The awards ceremony for the 25th Women’s Startup Competition, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and organized by the Korea Center for Women in Business, was held at Tipstown in Seoul.

This competition is the only national startup contest dedicated to discovering and supporting promising female entrepreneurs with innovative technologies and ideas. More than 11,000 women entrepreneurs have entered the startup ecosystem through this program, with over 80% of the startups focusing on cutting-edge fields such as AI and bio-health.

Oh Ki-woong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, emphasized that women-led startups will become a driving force in Korean industries, including K-fashion and beauty. He also noted that the role of women-owned businesses is evolving beyond a complementary level, becoming a central pillar in leading the AI era.

At the awards ceremony, Suji Hong, CEO of Oprimed Co., Ltd., was honored with the Chairperson’s Award from the Korea Center for Women in Business.
